The TFA (Technical Financial Advisor) certification is the first programme developed for future financial advisors. This training project provides and complements candidates with the knowledge and technical tools required for their professional development, under criteria currently set out in the European MiFID II and ESMA guidelines.

Objectives of the TFA training programme:

  • Being prepared to work as a future professional in line with MiFID II.
  • Complying with the European MiFID II and ESMA guidelines.
  • Being up-to-date with the latest trends in advisory services and taxation.
  • Providing the "MUST" syllabus that any professional financial advisor must know.
  • We will work following a disruptive methodology (gamification)

This programme is aimed at:

  1. Companies that need to provide their financial teams with a certification in line with European MiFID II
  2. Working professionals with a solid background that need the certification in order to continue their activity
  3. Future financial advisors who want to complement their training with a certification that enables them to perform their profession

At W&K we have developed a digital and innovative teaching methodology. It is a new and powerful strategy aimed at influencing and motivating participants, and it increases their satisfaction, raises the training's success rate and bolsters the acquisition of skills required by MiFID II.

It follows an online methodology and features multi-device and responsive content enhanced by master class sessions in webinar format, with the possibility of interacting with the trainer. Throughout the training process, the participant will enjoy access to a gamification app in trivial pursuit format, which will boost the learning processes' appeal, motivation, ability to retain concepts and acquisition of skills.

The online programme consists of 4 modules with a trainer that can be contacted via email. Students will have access to a two-hour master class in webinar format per module.

Subjects studied:

  • MODULE 1: Economic and financial framework – 25 hours
  • MODULE 2: Asset and portfolio framework – 70 hours
  • MODULE 3: Regulatory and advisory framework – 30 hours
  • MODULE 4: Tax framework – 25 hours

Theoretical training: 85% of the hours set for each module are mandatory. Each chapter of the online programme includes a level test with 10 non-binding questions (you will be able to advance whatever the score) and each module includes a test with 20 binding questions (you will not be able to advance if you do not pass with a score of 85%). When you complete the 4 modules, you will be provided with a final test including 30 questions about the "MUST" syllabus.

Practical training (gamification): 20 hours of interaction with the gamification tool are mandatory. 5 hours a week.

To access the TFA certification, students must provide an undergraduate degree certificate and/or a document from the company certifying a minimum full-time (or part-time equivalent) working experience of 6 months providing investment services.

Yes. Once the payment has been made, you will receive an invoice via the channel used for payment.

The payment is only refunded if access to the programme was not possible due to force majeure, justifying it with supporting documentation.

W&K recommends completing the programme in 4 months, studying 90 minutes every day. In any case, this is just a recommendation, and students may reduce these times in accordance with the time devoted to the programme. Fulfilment of the times set out in the certification's terms and conditions, both for the online content and the gamification tool, is an essential requirement.

The evaluation system is carried out on-site by answering a test with a total of 70 questions. The certification is obtained by correctly answering to 60 questions. Exams are held every 6 months.

The certification will be valid for one year of passing the certification, and will continue to be valid provided that the recertification hours are completed with us or a certifying company/programme approved by the CNMV and that the corresponding certificate is presented, if not completed with us.

The content cannot be accessed after passing the exam.

Gamification is the application of game-design elements and game principles in non-game contexts.

SmartQuiz is a mobile application that by means of gamification techniques improves content interaction ratios, the subsequent reinforcement and the level of knowledge of users that is examined in the programme's final test.

The gamification environment has been designed to draw conclusions, not only from the benefits provided by the training, but also from a behavioural and strategy analysis, presenting a complete profile of each user.

The information provided allows us to draw conclusions on the areas where there is sound knowledge and where reinforcement is required; to analyse the habits and skills of participants, their relationships with the rest of the players; to assess the development of knowledge; and to identify the answers to special category questions.

The certification's training project has been designed by renowned professionals in each area of expertise with the aim of providing and complementing candidates with the technical knowledge and tools required for their professional development within the scope of financial advisory services and the environment of investment firms, under the current criteria set out in the European MiFID II and ESMA guidelines.

W&K and its TFA certification is a "VIVO" programme with the most up-to-date content in product, strategies and trends within the scope of financial advisory services.
